Full Repose of the Silent One Blasphemous 2 Walkthrough

Repose of the Silent One serves as the starting area of the game and serves as the Location where players will learn the game’s various mechanics through a short tutorial. Reawakening from a deathly slumber, following the events of the previous game, The Penitent One starts his new journey here and will have to choose a new Weapon following the loss of the Mea Culpa.

The Penitent One Reawakens

After waking up, you’ll immediately be instructed on how to use your Bile Flask, as you only have half your health currently.

After regaining some health, head straight into the next room. New to this game, the Penitent One will be able to choose from three weapons, having lost the Mea Culpa in the events of the previous game. The three Weapons are the war censer, Veredicto, the dual dagger and blade, Sarmiento and Centella, and the curved blade, Ruego Al Alba. There will be a practice dummy in the form of a Penitent’s soul at the end of the room that you can try the weapons out on and get used to wielding your weapon of choice. Once you’ve made your choice, step onto the circle at the edge of the room and press the corresponding button. You’ll be asked if you’re sure about your decision, as you might not be able to change weapons for a long while.

After the short animation, move forward to the next room. Jump onto the platforms and then drop down to the lower levels as instructed. Slide through the gap and then head up the ladder to move forward. The next room will have an altar in the middle and the way forward will be blocked off by a gate. Head to the altar and press the corresponding button to interact with it. This altar is a Prie Dieu, which are important structures for you as they will fully restore your health and refill your Bile Flasks. They will also serve as your only save points for the game so make sure to remember where they are. If you die during your session, you’ll automatically get sent to the last Prie Dieu you interacted with. After interacting with this one, the gate will open and allow you to move forward. Before you do, you can glance at the upper left and right of this screen to see some platforms you might be able to get to later on.

Faceless One, Chisel of Oblivion

The next room will feature your first boss fight against the Faceless One, Chisel of Oblivion. This boss carries a large pointed wheel that it uses both as a weapon and as a means of mobility. As the first boss, its attacks are quite telegraphed, but that means nothing if you’re still not used to the controls and movement. As such, use this fight to get familiar with everything, and don’t worry about dying too much yet, as you haven’t got much to lose yet at this point.

Walkthrough | Blasphemous 2 Wiki (5)

If you do die, you’ll get transported to the Prie Dieu, and you’ll accumulate guilt which will restrict your maximum Fervour, which is the blue bar that you deplete to use special attacks. In exchange, while your Fervour is restricted, the currency and points you receive from defeating Enemies are increased. A Guilt Fragment will stay at the exact spot where you died and retrieving it will take away the accumulated guilt and return the Penitent One’s state back to normal.

Walkthrough | Blasphemous 2 Wiki (6)

Whenever the Faceless One uses the wheel to move up in the air or dash toward you, the wheel will be spinning and deal damage to you if you get within range. When it jumps in mid-air, it will sometimes throw the wheel toward you. This is best avoided by jumping over it or dashing under it at the right time. After a while, it will recall the wheel back to itself, which will again cause damage to you if you find yourself in the wheel’s path. The spikes will start moving for a second before it actually moves so if you’re nearby, you’ll get damaged even before the wheel actually starts moving. As mentioned previously, take your time to get used to its movements, and get used to controlling the Penitent One. Get some hits in patiently and it will eventually go down. Defeating Bosses will reward you with Marks of Martyrdom. Head back to the Prie Deiu if you have to and then move forward to the next room.

The next room will have a closed gate that can be activated by breaking the mechanism hanging right in front of it. You can do so with a simple jump attack. When it’s open, head to the next area.
