I love fall! And, the moment the first leaf starts to wither and fade I’m running for the pumpkin pie spice. The flavors are just so warm and comforting. Autumn inspires me to bake more than any other time of the year. And, this aromatic blend of spices is essential for fall baking.

Yes, you could use a store-bought brand of pumpkin spice. But, making your own costs less, it’s fresher, more versatile, and you can make as much or as little as you want. I’d be willing to bet you have all of the spices just sitting in your cabinet: ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground allspice, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves. You just throw them together and DONE!

  1. Combine, Mix, or Shake:Add all of the ingredients to a small bowl and whisk.You can also add the spices to a jar and shake.
  2. Store:Store in a jar or sealed container until you’re ready to use it.

How Long Will It Last? Spices generally stay fresh for about 4 years. But, keep in mind they will lose a bit of their effectiveness as time passes. So, be sure and store your spices in a cool, dark place, and in a tightly sealed container like these mini mason jars.
