So, this got me thinking—could it be possible that the deaths of his kits could've caused this and that perhaps he was also afraid of losing an apprentice just like he lost his kits? |

Their injuries didn't happen naturally though, they got them after being injured. |

One-eye had a white, sightless eye ever since she was born and it wasn't until shortly before she became an elder when that eye got completely scratched out acording to Bluestar's Prophecy... so that bad genes theory works pretty well imo |
